The history of Holiday tree

The tradition of Christmas tree comes from Germany. In the 16th century devout Germans brought into their houses the decorated trees. Some was built Christmas pyramids and decorated them with lights and plants. Candles was hunged on a Christmas tree by Martin Luther in the same time. Inspiration for candles appears during walk. Martin Luther one winter evening saw light of stars twinkling amidst trees.

It’s worth to know that the most 19th century Americans found Christmas trees as oddity. The first information about Christmas tree in that area come from 1830s and say about settlers from German as a owners of holiday tree. Some say that the German settlers decorated holiday trees as early as 1747. But, as late as the 1840s Christmas trees were treated as pagan symbols and they weren’t accepted by majority of American citizens.

The history of Christmas carols

The word „carol” in fact means dance or a song of joy and praise. In the past carols were pagan songs those were played during Winter Solstice celebrations when members of event danced around stone circles. Early Christians took over pagan songs and gave songs for Christian. In 129 the song „Angel’s Hymn” was known and played during Christmas service in Rome. Another Christmas hymn was created in 760 by Comas from Jerusalem. After that time more and more composers in Europe started creating Christmas carols. But the most of carols was sung in Latin and that’s why many Christians had lost interest those things.
